Get Enlightened

The Back-To-School 2018 season is officially on. Even if you’re long out of your schooling years, the slower pace that autumn brings is a wonderful opportunity to put an emphasis on your education. Check out a few books from your local library, download new podcasts, take in some art, or enroll in a course at your local community college or online. Fall is also a great time to refresh your goals for the remaining third of the year, or take action on the ones you previously set. Pursue your hobbies, career moves, and relationships with the refreshing extra energy autumn always comes with.

Light Colors

Fall Fashion is always a major player in the world of trends. However, while browns, tans, and neutral shades used to be the go-to looks, color has made a comeback in a bold way. Exciting shades have popped on to the scene, including this year’s must-have Magenta, and neon colors are also being seen on every runway. Other fall 2018 fashion trends include metallic anything, animal print everything, and plaid suits à la Cher in Clueless. You may be thinking, “As If”, but we assure you it’s true. You can also mix these trends into your home decor by bringing in animal print throw pillows, magenta curtains, or even some foil-inspired artwork.

Lighten Up (Literally)

Fitness fans everywhere rejoice when temperatures finally begin to cool off for the autumnal months. If summer found you eating and drinking with reckless abandonment (while also abandoning your weekly yoga class), now is the time to re-commit to your work out. Hit up the new cycling studio in your neighborhood, plan a fun game of flag football with your family, or volunteer to walk dogs at your local shelter. Whatever you choose, make sure to get those steps in before it’s too late, because as we all know, winter is coming.

Daylight

Last but not least, make good use of the daylight hours we still have before days get a little too short (or a little too cold) for our liking. Take in the crisp fall air, enjoy the crunching sound of leaves under your feet, make a hot cup of apple cider, and light every pumpkin candle you own. Enjoy this time of the year for the respite it offers between an active summer and the holiday season.
